SA's Finest Bio
Joey graduated from John Jay High School in San Antonio, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he joined the San Antonio Police Department where he has been employed since September 1992. He is a proud member of the San Antonio Police Officers' Association (SAPOA), currently serving as Chairman of both the SAPOA's Charitable Donations Committee and the SAPOA Memorial Scholarship (which honors officers killed in the line of duty). He also serves as a Trustee on the SAPD/SAFD Prepaid Legal Trust and recently earned a Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy (CAPPP) from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of the prestigious City South Leadership Academy. He also earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Wayland Baptist University in 2003.
He enjoys traveling with his family and is a huge supporter of the San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He and his wife Becky reside in Helotes and have two children that attend O'Connor High School.
